Welcome to the East Village Dining Commons, an exemplary dining hall that serves as a culinary hub within the vibrant Baylor University campus. Located at 1706 S 3rd St, Waco, TX, this cafeteria offers not just a meal but an experience that caters to the diverse palates of students, faculty, and visitors alike. Whether you’re hunting for comfort food or seeking out health-conscious choices, this dining destination delivers on all fronts.

As you step inside this spacious, two-story facility nestled between the Earle and Teal Residential Communities, you’ll immediately feel the welcoming atmosphere. With large windows letting in natural light, the airy space is adorned with cozy seating arrangements that invite you to linger over your meal. Here, the hustle of campus life is perfectly balanced with a vibe that encourages relaxation and rejuvenation amidst study sessions.

One of the standout features of East Village Dining Commons is its ever-changing menu that bridges culinary creativity with comfort. Grabbing a slice of their acclaimed pizza is almost a rite of passage for many, as it continually garners praise from devoted fans. Pair that with a fresh, vibrant salad to complement your meal, and you have a winning combination that satisfies both indulgence and health.

The testimonials from everyday diners wonderfully illustrate the spirit of this community hub. As Joseph Tully notes, “EV is a great dining hall… it has the best pizza,” while Wes Nemec appreciates the versatility of options—offering both healthy and indulgent fare, though cautioning that during peak hours, lines may snake about and negotiations around tables might feel tight. For those with a sweet tooth, the self-serve ice cream station is an irresistible bonus that can cap off any meal with a delightful treat.

While some might find East Village a bit off the beaten path—especially considering some favorable comparisons to its sister dining hall, Memorial—Daniel Neuhaus makes a compelling argument for its merits: “East Village Dining Commons is not just a dining hall; it’s a culinary haven right in the heart of Baylor University.” Simply put, this is where community, good food, and a fantastic atmosphere converge into a dining experience that no one should miss.

So, whether you're a hungry student grabbing a quick bite between classes, a faculty member sneaking in for lunch, or just a curious visitor exploring the campus, East Village Dining Commons warmly invites you in to savor the flavors and energy that make it such a beloved destination. Don’t just take our word for it—come in and see why East Village is frequently heralded as a top choice among all dining options on campus!

EV is a great dining hall. Like all the halls on campus, it's a little pricey is you aren't a student, but it has the best pizza, and I love their salads. It also has a great atmosphere.

Great if you're a student or faculty member with a meal plan. Probably not great if you're not. Good healthy options and indulgent options as well. Lines get a bit long and it's a bit tight to navigate around, but self serve ice cream is a plus. All in all a not a bad dining option.

The food is great for a dining hall, while memorial still holds the top spot. I would rank a 5 but it is on the edge of campus, far from most places.

East Village Dining Commons is not just a dining hall; it’s a culinary haven right in the heart of Baylor University. This two-story dining facility, perfectly positioned between Earle and Teal Residential Communities, has been my go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during my three years at Baylor. What sets East Village apart is its consistent culinary-inspired menus and unique offerings like the one-of-a-kind Mongolian grill and an exhibition-style station that truly accentuates ‘fresh.’ Whether you’re looking for healthy options or a diverse range of flavors, this place has it all. The convenience of its location, right next to the business school and nestled between the parking lot, makes it an ideal spot for any student. An intriguing fact about East Village is its commitment to sustainability, proudly holding a Level 1 certification by the Green Restaurant Association. This commitment to environmentally responsible dining options reflects a forward-thinking approach to food and sustainability, which is particularly commendable. The dining commons can accommodate 500 guests, offering terrace campus-view seating for a delightful meal experience on a sunny afternoon. They also provide private dining options and a 200-seat conference room, catering to a range of needs. East Village Dining Commons has been a significant part of my Baylor experience. Its convenient location, diverse and healthy food options, and commitment to sustainability make it a must-visit spot on campus. Whether you’re a student rushing between classes or just looking for a quality meal, East Village is worth the walk, even if it feels like a ‘hike’ from other campus buildings.
